Great app, hardware needs improvement

I love this app because it gives precise reading every time. The problem I was trying to solve is most digi-therms available only work for a short while then they start giving poor readings. I felt like something that worked with my phone might be more accurate, and it is!!

I have two problems with this product. My 4s doesnt always recognize that the probe is plugged in and/or it will give an error message "this unit not supported by this iOS device" (or something like that.)

The other problem is that the wire leading to the probe doesnt seem to be oven proof. I would like to be able to leave the probe in the food while its baking and maybe even have it chime when the desired temp is reached.

I dont actually know whether its ovenproof but the material doesnt look like it and the packaging gives no mention.

Im about due for a phone upgrade--Im hoping I can get a better quality probe thats compatible with the iPhone 6!
